Harry performs a concert exploring the enduring inspiration of Johann Sebastian Bach and his impact on musicians across the ages, from Leoš Janáček to Bill Evans, and Lianne La Havas to Laura Mvula, with duo partner cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
Baker and Kanneh-Mason contrast Bach’s First Cello Suite with Leoš Janáček’s Pohádka (Fairy Tale) and Heitor Villa-Lobos’s Bachianas Brasileiras No 2, a direct tribute to the German composer himself. Songs by two iconic jazz musicians Pat Metheny and Bill Evans – who were likewise influenced by Bach – also feature.
The duo concludes a dazzlingly diverse selection with their own arrangements of Bach.
